as you can see, i tried really hard to get as many things on my "to do over winter break" list done as i could this weekend. i painted like there was no tomorrow. really. unfortunately there IS a tomorrow and it's going to hurt like a bitch. my wrist is already screaming in pain and was before i was halfway done with all the painting but what are you going to do when you're halfway done? stop? yeah right.
as usual, none of the projects were as easy as they seemed. the bathroom door was covered (and still is in some spots) with like an inch of dirt from sitting in the garage for who knows how long and it didn't fit in the door frame. i had to hang it, take it off and cut the top to fit, hang it again, cut the side, hang it again, cut again... so now it fits but the door handle hardware no longer fits in the door. it's going to be a real bitch getting that sucker fixed but luckily i'm just putting it off for awhile.
so i didn't finish everything on the list. i almost installed a sink yesterday but the one i bought wasn't going to be small enough. i mean, it fits but i don't like that it's basically the same size as the one that's in that bathroom. it needs a miniature sink that you can only wash one hand at a time in. actually, wouldn't be awesome if i could get a mixing bowl-sized sink? i would love that. (the bathroom in question is the literal definition of a "water closet". it used to be a closet (i'm pretty positive anyway), and now it's a bathroom.)
um, what else? kurt made lasagna! and it was delicious! we watched a couple movies this weekend and i saw juno on friday. it was awesome. plus, it was fantastically warm outside today. i was only out in it for about ten minutes but it was heaven while it lasted. now i'm going to bed. as soon as i take a handful of ibuprofen for all of my poor, aching body parts. |
